ABSTRACT
J-curve 1 In PSYCHOLOGY this term denotes a FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION of conforming behaviour, portraying on a graph that the behaviour of most people in a given situation will fall at or near the behaviour expected. (See Figure 20.) The curve looks roughly like a capital J, or a reverse J, in shape. 2 In ECONOMICS the curve depicts a small decrease in some variable followed by a large and rapid increase.
