ABSTRACT
A Graduate Certificate in Open and Distance Learning has been developed as a series of Web-based courses by the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) in Australia. The programme is aimed at academic and training personnel who want to improve their knowledge and skill in the design, delivery and management of open and distance learning. During 1996, the first two courses were prepared and delivered to a pilot group of students. During 1997, more courses were added, including one on creating interactive multimedia, and about seven other courses are now being developed in order to offer a choice of credit points to make up the Certificate.
