ABSTRACT

The ways in which pupils can be motivated-that is, encouraged to learndepend to a large extent on the interests and enthusiasm of the individual teacher, and how far he/she can relate them to the corresponding interests and enthusiasm of pupils. Nevertheless, in Religious Education especially there are several factors acknowledged to be particularly motivating for pupils if lesson content is structured around them. These are discussed in this chapter and related to what are believed to be realistic expectations of learning in the Early Years.
