Being senior has enormous advantages. The American humorous writer S. J. Perelman, when well into later life, was about to get out of a New York cab when the driver said to him, ‘Have a nice day’. Perelman scowled, ‘Young man, I am 74 years old and I shall have whatever sort of day I like!’.
