ABSTRACT
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus may almost have been foreseeing twentieth-century education when he wrote more than 1,800 years ago, ‘there is a proper value and proportion to be observed in the performance of every act’. For today not only is this the perspective that every school is encouraged to take, but they need to ensure that there is added value in the performance of every act.
