ABSTRACT
David Gauthier is one of the most distinguished of contemporary Canadian philosophers, although he now teaches at the University of Pittsburgh in the USA. His works include Practical Reasoning (1962), The Logic of Leviathan (1969), Morality and Rational Self-interest (1970) and Morals by Agreement (1985).
