ABSTRACT
Nancy Cartwright is Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method at the London School of Economics. She has published numerous articles in the philosophy of science, and two books, How The Laws of Physics Lie (1983) and Nature's Capacities and Their Measurement (1989). Otto Neurath: Philosophy Between Science and Politics, written with Jordi Cat, Lola Fleck and Thomas Uebel, will be published in December 1995.
