ABSTRACT
John Cottingham is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Reading. His books include Rationalism (1984), Descartes (1986), The Rationalists (1988), and A Descartes Dictionary (1993). He also led a team producing a new translation of The Philosophical Writings of Descartes for Cambridge University Press (3 vols, 1984–91).
