Iron technology in the middle Sahel/Savanna: with emphasis on central Darfur

This chapter describes the development of iron technology and its achievements in central Darfur. Ethnographic observations, historical reports and archaeological evidence are used to present a historical perspective of iron-using and technology and its impact on middle Sahel/Savanna communities.
