ABSTRACT

For the vast majority of workers whatever their physical workplace may be like their psychological workplace is an organization of some kind. For the 15 per cent or so of the working population of industrialized countries who are self-employed this may not always be the case, particularly if they work from home. Even here, though, people must deal with work organizations, for example in marketing their skills and services. And this is particularly pertinent to professional trainers, of course, whose working lives may be largely spent in other people’s organizations. It would not be too much of an exaggeration, therefore, to describe work organizations as practically ubiquitous. Which leads us to the obvious question…

WHAT EXACTLY IS AN ORGANIZATION?
