ABSTRACT

The training environment is similar to the work environment in that psychologically both consist to a large extent of the interactions between members of small groups. Psychologists have studied the behaviour of people in such groups for many years, and a solid body of findings has emerged from this work. It is therefore essential for trainers to be familiar with the most important of these findings, both to deepen their understanding of their own working environment and to glean some practical help with specific issues in managing their own groups.
