Could I begin by asking you to situate your recent work within the field of deconstructive criticism in America? You once described yourself as ‘a Marxist outsider in the deconstructive establishment’. Do you still see yourself that way? Somehow it doesn’t seem to do justice to the specificity of your position any more.
