ABSTRACT
Since the enactment of the Human Rights Act 1998 and its coming into force on 2 October 2000, the popular idea of ‘human rights’, with the frequent references to them in the media, has become what might be termed ‘Convention-centric’ (i.e. thought of mainly in terms of the different substantive Convention Articles).
