ABSTRACT

This chapter describes analysis of variance for examining together data from both related and unrelated samples. For example, we may be interested in determining whether any increase in post-test marks for women is greater in the individual than in the group tutorial condition. If so, we would use a two-way analysis of variance with repeated measures on one factor. Alternatively, we may want to determine whether post-test marks in women differ between the individual and the group tutorial condition when we control for differences in these two conditions at pre-test. In this case, we would use a one-way analysis of covariance.
