ABSTRACT

This edited volume has had two purposes. One, to expand our understanding of the need to diversify and adapt when it comes to university technology commercialization models. In particular, the chapters presented in this book demonstrate the necessity for more regional and national input in models of university technology commercialization. Universities are regional and national players. They do not exist in a void. Hence, all of their activities, be their teaching, research, or technology commercialization, need to adapt to the university’s environment and they, in turn, recursively adapt to a broader environment, including but not limited to industry, government and Civil Society, to various degrees in different societies.
