ABSTRACT
Starting in 1993, NetCom Systems AB was a wholly owned subsidiary of Industriforvaltnings AB Kinnevik. In 1996, the shares of NetCom were distributed to Kinnevik's shareholders. NetCom Systems AB, along with its subsidiaries and associated companies in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, is the largest non-PTT provider of telecommunications services in Scandinavia. The Group is also engaged in cable TV operations. The Group operates within these areas (Annual Report, 1996):
• Public national and international telephony and data communications; in Sweden through its subsidiary Tele2 AB, and in Denmark and Norway, through other subsidiaries.
