TYPES OF GROUNDING/EARTHING ELECTRODES Electrical systems are connected to earth by using a grounding or earthing electrode. Several different types of electrodes can be used including rods, plates, advanced driven rods, concrete encased electrodes, a building foundation, water pipe, or electrolytic electrodes.
