ABSTRACT

The political leadership elites of our world don’t all subscribe equally to the philosophy of a nuclear ultima ratio, but they have no conceptual alternative to it. They have none because they are professionals of power. Why should they choose values that are in direct opposition to physical force? Is there, can there be, a political philosophy-a set of proposals for winning and holding power-that renounces a priori any physical guarantees of power? Only antipolitics offers a radical alternative to the philosophy of a nuclear ultima ratio.
