ABSTRACT

Ross (1860-1927), elder brother of Robert Ross (1869-1918), later Wilde’s literary executor, was, like his brother, born in Canada and educated in England. The elder Ross, a frequent contributor to the Saturday Review, moved in the literary circles of the Savile Club and became a founder in the Society of Authors, serving as honorary secretary in its early years until he left to enter business. At the time of this review, which was unsigned, both Rosses were friends of Wilde.
