Norman Shannon Hall, ‘John Dos Passos Lies!', Foreign Service

Hall rose through the ranks of the American Expeditionary Force from buck private to second lieutenant. He paid tribute to the heroes of the Great War in a ‘biography’ of flying ace Frank Luke, published in 1928 as The BalloonBuster.
