ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the boundaries that separate categories. The goals of the research are to better predict what stimuli are naturally classified by people into one or another category and to better predict identification and classification performance in a variety of tasks. More particularly, the research asks what it is about the stimulus set that determines the classification of individual stimuli.
