ABSTRACT
So far, we have confined ourselves, very largely, to Dewey’s work in philosophical psychology. We must now consider his views on the more central issues in philosophy. His main work in this area is Experience and Nature. But we shall begin with two works written a few years earlier: Reconstruction in Philosophy and ‘The Need for a Recovery of Philosophy’. The views of the larger work are here anticipated and expressed in a livelier style.
