ABSTRACT
The simplest way to ask a question in spoken French is by using rising intonation at the end of
the sentence. There are a number of examples of this in text 1
e.g. alors (line 5); tu ne t’es jamais posé la question? (lines 14-15); tu aimes la campagne? (line 28);
tu préfères la ville? (line 31); il n’y a rien qui t’attire particulièrement? (lines 48-9).
