Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants: Reflections on Their Thirtieth Anniversary

The year 1988 marks the 30th anniversary of the implementation of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in Psychi­ atry. As this issue of Occupational Therapy in Health Care was devoted to the concerns, contributions, and future of Certified Oc­ cupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), it is appropriate to con­ sider the situation which led to the development of this program.
