ABSTRACT
This paper will describe a special project which has been imple mented because of the experience and interest of a Certified Occu pational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in hand splinting. The assistant has ten years of experience in psychiatry and physical disabilities. For the last five years, the COTA has been on a treatment team assigned to patients referred from the burn, orthopedic surgery and plastic surgery services.
