ABSTRACT
This article describes an autosyringe backpack developed by a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) that allows mo bility for the pediatric patient while also permitting him to perform developmental tasks during administration of chemotherapy treat ment of cancer. The backpack provides independent mobility and increases the time a child can play and interact freely with others, thereby reducing the iatrogenic effects of hospitalization. Instruc tions for construction of the backpack are included.
