ABSTRACT

In this section, we will present three case studies which illustrate the (changing) roles of middle managers. All three cases are Danish: a governmental agency, a hi-tech manufacturing company and a partly privatized state institution. The structure of each case study is the same. First, the organization is presented. Second, the specific change activities are described. Finally, the change processes are analysed from a double perspective: a middle manager view and a national (Danish) culture perspective.
