ABSTRACT
Returning at last to Ithaca, Homer’s Odysseus comes in the disguise of a beggar to the hut of the swineherd Eumaeus. He fabricates a complex false story to account for his coming, but when Telemachus arrives, Ulysses reveals himself, and father and son are united. Together they plan to destroy the suitors who have so long plagued Penelope.
