ABSTRACT
So far we have said rather little, except in passing, about doctors and their relationships with the patients. This is a crucial matter which can be delayed no longer. Doctors must now be brought into the centre of the scene on which they have such a profound effect. Modern science and technology have given them a preeminence in the struggle against death.
