ABSTRACT
This chapter on the Italian situation will deal initially with the ways in which problems concerning citizenship in Italy are nowadays treated in the context of immigration. It will then deal with the history of migrations which affected Italy, and concentrate on the features of the present immigration flow. It will end by analysing recent migration policies and their implications concerning citizenship.
