If you are prone to skip to the end of books before reading, you may be disappointed with this fi nal chapter. This is for those who have read all the way through; think of these points as an aide-memoire. Teaching is an incredibly fulfi lling, yet ridiculously demanding, job. Surviving and fl ourishing in the classroom is demanding physically and mentally. Yet we can do things that will help ourselves. Increasingly wellbeing will become an issue for SLTs to consider as teacher shortages bite, but there are no magic wands. Our wellbeing is at least partly our responsibility. We can and must help ourselves and each other.
