ABSTRACT
The last chapter was concerned to show how the classical view of identity in modal predicate logic, according to which both LI and LNI on p. 314 are valid, can accommodate such apparent counter-examples as (1) on p. 313. In the present chapter we consider accounts of identity in which these wff are not valid.
