ABSTRACT

The curriculum and teaching methods are stuck in a rut, and are divorced from legal practice and social needs, falling far short of the international standard. There is a huge over-supply of talents in the low end of the legal market but the shortage of talents in the high-end legal market is also extreme. It is necessary to recognize that there is a striking imbalance amongst the investment, production and demand in legal education. Use subjects such as theory of justice and legal professional ethics as well as pro bono activities to enhance the sense of identity and cultivation of basic qualities. Although the legal concepts are abstract and difficult to grasp, they are important to the “interpretative community” of the legal profession, development of excellent talents, and improvement of discernment and comprehensive judgment. The first decade of the twenty-first century has seen a huge change in legal education reform both in China and in the international situation.
