ABSTRACT

F. ENGELS Starting from criticism of the capitalist economic system, K. Marx and F. Engels have formulated fundamental principles of the socialist system of economy. One of those principles has been nationalization of capital (Marx and Engels 1848; included in 1949, Vol. I: 44). However, their attitude towards small private property was quite different: they saw its future in terms of voluntary associations (Engels 1894; included in 1949, Vol. II: 414).
