ABSTRACT
Following the discussion of theoretical and clinical issues presented above, I shall present a delineation of the three concepts that focus the central meanings regarding mental objects in the psychoanalytic literature today. This proposal does not purport to solve the many questions that remain regarding the various concepts of mental objects. Rather, it is presented as a conceptual map of the central meanings that have developed in the psychoanalytic literature, integrating the different issues discussed above.
