ABSTRACT

In the opening chapter of Part Two Peter Scrimshaw sets out the challenge and the opportunity for teachers. He recognises that the development of a synergy between teaching and IT will result in a far deeper reappraisal of the teacher’s role than is currently recognised. This requires a fundamental and continuous process of rethinking what is taught, how it is taught and why. IT is itself a cause of the radical changes in education which are opening the classroom to the world.
