ABSTRACT

This book and the volume of literature reviewed in these chapters attests to the importance of situational judgment in modern staffing research and practice. As noted throughout this book, situational judgment tests (SJTs) play an important role by supplying practitioners with a selection method that is fairly predictive, face valid, relatively easy to develop, flexible to administer, and has moderate to small subgroup differences. Perhaps for these reasons, practical applications of SJTs have far outpaced theoretical developments.
