ABSTRACT
I read ‘A New Agenda for Society’ with great interest and a good deal of sympathy: sympathy, certainly, for the aims and motivation which inhere in it. Who, after all, would not want (to pick out some phrases more or less at random) ‘to bring about God’s kingdom on earth’, or ‘to unite in common cause and fellowship to create a better world’ or ‘to be concerned for the creation of a new order regulated by the principle of love’? Is anyone against ‘the building of a just society’?
