ABSTRACT
Shared power is the cornerstone of shared partnership. Empowerment in intimate relationships is the concept that best sums up shared power; empowered partners both feel powerful, have maximized choice and autonomy, but share decisions and a focus on the relationship. There is a distinct balance between individual and couple concerns, fostering the reciprocal growth of both partners and development of the relationship.
