ABSTRACT
The earlier chapter on social functioning explores the general difficulties that people with autism face in making social contacts. Failure to understand the nature of relationships, the skills required for developing these, or the rules governing interactions, can all cause difficulties, even in the most superficial of contacts. When sexual relationships are involved the problems may be even more profound.
