ABSTRACT
This book has explored the governance of the automobile sector at both the national and the transnational level, analysing the distinctive characteristics of the relationship between the industry and public authorities. This concluding chapter explores more fully the development of policy networks and governing structures at the European level. These issues go to the heart of the debate between the classic and sectoral approaches of government-industry relations outlined in Chapter 1.
