From Late Ming to Early Qing

Most of the entries in this part concern translations of Western science and technology, and most are directly or indirectly connected with the Jesuit missionary project. While the individual documents offer snapshots of different moments in that project, it will be useful to outline the Jesuit mission to China more generally and to put it in a wider perspective.
