ABSTRACT

It has been a remarkable and moving experience for the authors of this book to re-read all of the published writings of Melanie Klein. The four volumes record an immensely productive psychoanalytic life, both conveying a rich sense of what took place in her consulting room and demonstrating how much it mattered to Klein to communicate with her colleagues, students and those interested in psychoanalytic ideas what she had discovered and what she believed it revealed about the human mind and the potential of psychoanalytic therapy.
