ABSTRACT

This chapter continues to explore the use of databases in independent study. Rather than focusing on one main study we will offer three exercises drawn from different historical areas. These are shown in Table 10.1 together with the names of the appropriate data sets which are located in Appendix 6. For each exercise you will be invited to carry out the following tasks:

Design a database from the sources provided.

Enter the historical information into the database.

Design a list of queries to interrogate the information contained in the database.

Present your findings in the form of a short report.
