This case study illustrates the history dimension of an integrated topic, lasting one term, on ‘Buildings’, including class, group and individual work. The long-term plan is shown in Box 11.1. The activities allow children to demonstrate, by talking to each other and to the teacher, that they have achieved level 1 in each of the attainment targets (and are working towards level 2).
