ABSTRACT
The measurement of time involves complex interacting concepts which emerge slowly: concepts of speed, space and number. Our lives are measured in hours and days, which depend on the rotation of the earth on its axis, in months recorded by the moon’s orbit of the earth, and in seasons and years, governed by the earth’s orbit of the sun.
