ABSTRACT
A line of students spans the campus green. Standing side by side, they hold onto each other’s hands. Sam, a white male, is standing next to his friend Luis, a Mexican American immigrant. “Step forward if your parents own your home,” Oman calls out. Sam steps forward and tightens his grip on Luis’s hand.
