The map on p. 98 shows those ideas which make up a sound basis to work towards in the early secondary years. This is proposed as a coherent framework in itself which at the same time provides an appropriate basis for development. Central ideas around which understanding is structured are in double boxes and these are the goals of the Learning Guides.
