Interest in sex and the physiological responses to it are far livelier in the male. He is almost always the initiator of intercourse and necessarily more vigorous in carrying it out. It follows that menwith their powerful drive-are more likely to get caught up in various deviations, run into difficulties with the law, or develop sexuallytransmitted diseases, including HIV infection.
