ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the Cognitive Interview (CI) technique and considers its potential applications for child witnesses. We review CI and provide a summary of the basic findings. We then consider the most appropriate circumstances under which CI might be used with children, focusing on important factors such as the age of the child, the verbal competence of the child, and the emotional state of the child.
